One hundred and ninety-two dispensaries were issued with permits by the state of Missouri, allowing them to sell medical marijuana to patients. Of the 192 dispensaries, eight are located in Springfield City. Missouri has eight Congressional districts, and each of them was issued with 24 licenses by the state Department of Health and Senior Services. The department indicated that the recipients of the permits met the requirements of the program and that they scored the highest during the evaluation of the license applicants. On Thursday, Virginia Senators passed a bill decriminalizing marijuana within the state. The legislation removes the threat of imprisonment for simple marijuana possession.
