420 with CNW – More Illinois Residents Opt for Medical Marijuana to Dodge High Taxes

To get more states to legalize marijuana, the cannabis community has been convincing the people as well as the leaders by estimating the amount of tax revenue states could generate from the sale of legal weed. And from the look of things, lawmakers are starting to heed their cries as more and more states move to legalize either medical or recreational marijuana, or even both. However, the tax imposed on marijuana sales is too high in some states such that consumers are opting to buy weed from the black market where it is affordable. For Illinois residents, the better option…

420 with CNW – Chicago Housing Authority Eases its Strict Position on Recreational Weed

The new recreational marijuana market in Chicago is still facing some challenges. However, the challenge of being restricted from consuming pot in accomodations that fall within the ambit of the Chiacgo Housing Authority is being addressed in light of the state law allowing recreational marijuana. Marijuana consumers can now buy marijuana and smoke it at home. Previously, people living in subsidized housing facilities governed by federal law couldn’t smoke marijuana in their homes because as per federal law, cannabis is illegal. Last year, sixty-three thousand households received warning letters for possible evictions for families found violating federal marijuana laws. However,…

Last week on Wednesday, an incoming traveler at Midway Airport stole marijuana from one of the marijuana amnesty boxes situated at the facility, said the Chicago Police. The cannabis amnesty boxes were installed a few weeks ago, and they coincided with adult-use marijuana legalization in Illinois. The amnesty boxes are for passengers who are boarding their flights at Midway or O’Hare airports to dispose of the unused marijuana products since no one is allowed to board a plane with any shred of weed. According to local media sources, during routine checks on Wednesday evening around 8 p.m., the police noticed…

420 with CNW – Canadian Moms Come Together Against Marijuana Stigma

Canadian mothers who are also marijuana consumers have been complaining that they are criticized more than dads who are weed consumers. In the past few months, several organizations have been established to provide mothers with a safe place to discuss marijuana and reduce stigma surrounding moms who use marijuana. Before the legalization of recreational marijuana in Canada, Shannon Chiarenza from Vancouver started an attack on stigma against moms who are marijuana users by launching a website known as Weed Mama. Chiarenza’s website gives parents and women information about marijuana, product reviews, and offers them a community where weed consuming mothers…
