People with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) often suffer from depression and bouts of suicidal ideations. Research shows these people can treat this depression with marijuana. The University of British Columbia and the B.C Centre of Substance use (BCCSU) conducted a study that shows that pot could be used to treat PTSD-induced depression.
