420 with CNW – Key Congressional Committee Passes Marijuana Legalization Bill
On Wednesday, a key Congressional committee passed legislation that would decriminalize and tax marijuana as well as expunging federal marijuana convictions. However, to become law, it has to be approved by the full House and the Republican-controlled Senate. The House Judiciary Committee passed the bill by a vote of 24 to 10. The bill is known as the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act of 2019 and was introduced by Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and co-sponsored by more than 50 legislators.
