Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer approved a bill that would permit veterinarians to consult with individuals who owned pets about the therapeutic use of cannabis and products derived from hemp, such as cannabidiol or THC. The legislation, which was introduced in 2020 by Rep. Gregory Markkanen, was signed by Michigan’s governor on Tuesday last week. The legislation had passed both chambers of the state’s legislature by December 2020.
