In 2023, the state of Illinois raked in billions in recreational cannabis sales. This is despite the fact that prices in the state are among the highest in the country. New research has challenged the stereotype that cannabis users are lazy and inactive. The research was conducted by investigators at The Ohio University and the University of Texas at Dallas and involved more than 2,500 adults who took part in the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health in the period between 2016 to 2018. Germany Approves a Quasi-Legalization Marijuana Law

Germany recently passed a recreational marijuana legislation that decriminalizes marijuana, provides a foundation for cultivation social clubs and permits home growing. Under the legislation, cultivation social clubs are defined as not-for-profit organizations that allow members to obtain cannabis for recreational use. The law, which hasn’t yet been read in the Bundesrat, will be enacted on April 1, 2024. The Bundesrat isn’t required to provide “consent” and will focus more on looking into the measure itself.
