Last week, senators in Nevada passed a measure that called for Congress to legalize cannabis at the federal level. The approved measure states that marijuana has many medical uses that have been well documented, yet it is still classified as a Schedule I substance. Under the Controlled Substances Act, marijuana is classified in the same category as drugs such as heroin, LSD, peyote, ecstasy and methaqualone.
