A new study has found that people who use marijuana during lactation or pregnancy use it to manage pre-existing conditions such as insomnia and mental health conditions, as well as pregnancy-related symptoms, including nausea and vomiting. Dr. Meredith Vanstone, one of the authors of the study, stated that their findings didn’t resonate as much with evidence on motives for marijuana use that have been identified in nonpregnant populations, which proposed that reasons for the herb’s use during lactation and pregnancy were unique.
