420 with CNW — Research Discovery Suggests CBD Topical Creams May Alleviate Chronic Back Pain

Did you know that lower back pain is a leading cause of disability in the world? Lower back pain can range from acute to chronic, and affects individuals of all ages, from the elderly to children. It is estimated that nearly 540 million individuals in the world are affected by lower back pain.

Chronic back pain affects individuals from all socio-economic statuses and backgrounds. However, in recent years, middle-income and low-income populations have recorded significantly higher diagnoses in comparison with upper-income world populations. Back pain presents itself in many levels of severity and forms, from a persistent pain to complete debilitation. You probably know how painful back pain can be if you have suffered from it at any point in your life.

If you are still suffering from the condition, you’re in luck as the results of a study that was recently conducted show that cannabis topicals may help relieve the pain.

A group of researchers from various universities across the United States analyzed data collected from patients who suffered from chronic back pain to see whether cannabis had helped alleviate their symptoms. The study results can be applied across the globe as back pain is a common occurrence in the world.

The investigators focused on whether or not the CBD topical rub was effective in treating chronic back pain. The researchers stated in their findings that CBD appeared to have anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive effects on opioid naïve patients who had radicular and neuro-pathic pain.

They concluded that a transdermal cream that contained hemp-derived CBD yielded significant pain and symptom relief for patients involved in the study. Based upon these findings, the researchers noted that further research into products that contained CBD was warranted, as it would determine whether the products should have a bigger role in the treatment of chronic and acute pain.

Currently, prescription pharmaceutical drugs that are opioid-based are the most popular treatment for chronic back pain. It is common knowledge that opioids are not only toxic but can lead to serious addictions. Opioids also cause the deaths of tens of thousands of individuals across the globe each year, which makes them a serious threat to the health and lives of many.

Considering cannabinoids as a treatment option would be a much safer alternative, especially if you consider that these cannabis derivatives have never led to the death of any individual in recorded human history.

One marijuana industry player who is playing a major role in producing high-quality products is Pure Extracts Technologies Corp. (CSE: PULL). This firm focuses on extracting cannabis compounds for use in making its own products as well as extracting the compounds on behalf of other licensed companies both in and outside Canada.
