New West Summit 2019 to Host Homecoming in Golden Gate City

When New West Summit 2019 kicks off during the second week of October in the Golden Gate City, the gathering will be something of a homecoming for many attendees. Scheduled to be held October 10-11, 2019, at the Bespoke Event Center in Westfield Mall in San Francisco, the conference is now in its fifth year and has become an annual tradition for many. The appeal of the event is obvious: The New West Summit Series provides a forum for decision makers from the technology, media and investment sectors to take the pulse of the cannabis industry and discuss the forces shaping its future.

This year attendees will be treated to presentations from more than 100 influential figures, a series of panel discussions, displays by over 50 exhibitors and a Pitch Slam that will showcase some of the most innovative companies in the cannabis space. A variety of social events will complement the information sessions, allowing participants ample opportunity for networking and catching up with other New West Summit alumni.

Some panels, such as ‘Desktop & Mobile Technologies: CRM, POS, Blockchain, Digital Payments – What’s Hot & Needs to Disrupt?’, will focus on digital technologies. Others, like ‘Investing Trends, M&A’s and Global Expansion in the Cannabis Industry’, will be devoted to funding issues. In ‘Disruptive Innovation and the Cannabis Industry’, panel members will discuss how new technologies are redefining industry business models. Marketing matters will be the theme of the session titled ‘Buying & Investing into an Experience. Cannabis Is Going Mainstream & The Lifestyle Has Become a Commodity. How Do We Keep Integrity & Make Profits at the Same Time?’.

The more than 100 speakers scheduled to appear include Alicia Silverstone, George Zimmer, Gaynell Rogers and Timothy Seymour. Silverstone achieved global recognition for her performance in the 1995 blockbuster Clueless. She has been a vegan for more than two decades and her book, ‘The Kind Diet: A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight, and Saving the Planet’ became a New York Times bestseller. Silverstone is also the co-founder of mykind Organics, the first-ever food-based, certified organic and non-GMO project-verified vegan supplement line.

Zimmer, a well-known cannabis industry advocate, is founder of Generation Tux and former executive chairman and CEO of Men’s Wearhouse. Rogers is a media-relations professional and co-founder of Treehouse Global Ventures. Seymour is chief investment officer of Seymour Asset Management.
