On its return to Toronto, O’Cannabiz Conference & Expo will be featuring a celebrated cast of cannabis champions, crusaders and campaigners. As with last year, Canada’s premier cannabis event will once again be offering invaluable content and impressive speakers as the conference gets going April 23-25, 2020, at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
The speaker lineup includes famed Dame Olivia Newton-John, Michelle Romanow, Rachel Rapinoe and Shaun O’Neale, all of whom are well-known cannabis evangelists. The three-day trade fair includes a business conference, an industry awards gala and more than 400 expositions. Over 7,500 cannabis aficionados, advocates and acolytes are expected to attend, holding out the promise that O’Cannabiz 2020 will be the best cannabis networking event in Canada.
Newton-John is a four-time Grammy award winner with countless Billboard 100 singles. She has attributed her success in treating breast cancer to the use of cannabis. A headlining speaker, Newton-John and her husband, John Easterling, will share their experiences with cannabis and talk about its therapeutic qualities.
Romanow is co-founder and president of venture capital firm Clearbanc and a well-known angel investor on Dragons’ Den, the Canadian version of Shark Tank. Rapinoe is a former pro-soccer player who went on to co-found health and fitness company, Mendi, where she is now CEO. O’Neale is a DJ extraordinaire and winner of MasterChef Season 7. He has also published My Modern American Table, a range of recipes that combines American and international cuisines.
This year, in partnership with COVA, O’Cannabiz is offering a special treat, the Retail Zone – 20,000 square feet of space devoted to the display and sale of product. Retailers will be able to register for free. In addition, retailers, bud tenders, retailer applicants, retailer employees, contractors and suppliers will receive a complimentary, two-day industry pass. Conference attendees can expect an immersive experience as they embark on a learning adventure that includes guidance on opening a retail store, avoiding mistakes in setting up shop, inventory management, fraud detection, provincial reporting and other tips for success.
